Petrine McCrohan Bridging the inner and outer landscapes

discovering the inner and outer pioneer

There has been, for quite some time,
a growing realisation that our ever-expanding urban living is choking us on many levels, leaving the deeper, more emotional and psychological exploration sadly neglected.
It is also more widely recognised in recent times that indigenous cultures have used the landscape, its animals and forms, its vegetation and differing climates, to understand the more profound meanings to existence.

I see the need to allow the metaphors and symbolic images of this spirited land to speak to us, as this can bring about true connectedness with oneself and one's true purpose. These very structured, but totally spontaneous and exploratory journeys, are designed for those of us seeking a life well lived, full and meaningful, a life one can be satisfied with when close to death. I am of the belief this can be done by listening to that which has been here for a lot longer than us, and exists quite comfortably. I am also of the belief that our internal landscape is prompted by this natural phenomenon, both engaging in patterns born out of rhythms rather than intellect.

I'm a woman redefining adventure therapy,
on horseback and on foot, in the High Country
(and other parts of Victoria).
I work with groups of people interested in
self-disclosure, who enjoy the bush, horse riding,
and bushwalking, and who are keen to go on an adventure internally and externally.
The general outline of the group work is to exist in the space we are in and let it quietly speak to us,
the emphasis being on awareness of self in relation to the immediate environment.
At points of rest and evening's camp, we will talk and share what particular images from the day's walk or ride evoked.
Feelings or stirred desires, dreams, or things buried from long ago.
I will be the facilitator, guiding participants in the journey to help connect these stirrings with themes that may have emerged, and then, how to tie them in with the reality of daily life.
I also offer treks for couples experiencing difficulties
in their relationship.
